Procurement Assistant

Job Description

Our client, based in Maidstone town centre, has asked us to help recruit a Procurement Assistant working within the clients Procurement/Frameworks team to commence work on as soon as possible on a temporary to permanent basis.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager the successful candidate will assist the team to carry out the day to day administration of all frameworks and supplier lists applicable to the Construction/Property service – including the Principal Contractor, Consultants and Asbestos Frameworks. This will include various tasks in relation to procurement and framework management.

The individual should be someone willing to learn and develop within the role and have an interest in a procurement career.

Main duties & responsibilities

·Support the Procurement/Frameworks team to deliver a quality service to clients

·Support the management of the Frameworks and act as a first point of contact for all queries

·Support the input into any new supplier procurement proposals and assist with the development and implementation of systems for administering resulting new supply chains, frameworks and contracts effectively and efficiently.

·Assist with the recording and logging all contracts retained in KCC and ensure they comply with all procedures, policies and practices.

·Carry out supplier checks as required – including checks on performance, health & safety, insurance and financial standing.

·Assist the wider Property team on the evaluation and selection process – including evaluation criteria, scoring, administration, document control and supplier feedback.

 

 

The client are offering a salary of around £18,000 (£9.35 per hour while temping) with other benefits one such as Company Pension, flexible working practices and ongoing training/development once the position goes permanent.

Desirable Skills

  • Work experience in either the construction/property industry or within a procurement function in another industry.
