Job Description
Our client, a well-known, successful and long-established international manufacturer of office equipment, industrial tools and fixings, are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active Warehouse/Goods In Operative to join their team on a temporary basis.
The company are based in Marden and this role will be temporary to permanent.
You will be responsible for a wide range of warehouse tasks and will become a key member of the team, responsible for the receipt, handling and flow of goods through the warehouse. A good communicator, with a desire to learn and grow, will flourish in this role. You will enjoy communicating with other members of the team and third parties, including transport companies. This is a physical role where you will be active for most of your day. Extended periods of lifting are involved.
The hours of work will be 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday with a 16:00 finish every Friday.
The hourly pay rate will be £13.16 while temping (equivalent permanent salary £26,686)
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensuring correct unloading of containers/vehicles being palletised
· Checking product into the building and reporting any damage or quantity short falls on delivery
· Ensuring delivery notes are accurately picked, properly and economically packed, dispatched in time to meet delivery requirements, dispatched by the most economical method, reprocessing orders to customer requirements (experience of picking and packing pallets and parcels an advantage)
· Ensuring we have sufficient product in the pick face to be able to meet orders
· Operate forklift and pallet pump trucks
· Liaise with all staff and customers (e.g. booking in) as necessary (DPD and Palletforce an advantage)
· Help to keep clean and maintain safe working areas
Requirements for the Role:
· Counterbalance forklift licence
· Driving licence and own transport
· Attention to detail
· A practical person who possesses a positive can-do approach to work
· Team player with ability to lead a team as and when required
· Able to lift heavy goods
· Good communication and numeracy skills
· Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
· Good computer skills
· Experience of an ERP system an advantage (or tablet system)
· Health and Safety an advantage (not essential)
· First Aid an advantage (not essential)
